Didactic Poetry is instructional poetry. The poet expected the reader to learn skills, science, philosophy, love, crafts, etc. from the didactic verses. Hesiod is considered the first didactic poet. Didactic poetry was usually written in the dactylic hexameters of epic poetry, even when the purpose was humorous. It was not considered its own genre.

How to Write a Criticizing Letter

1 Wait 24 hours. 2 Start with a salutation 

3 Begin your letter by complimenting something that the recipient has done that has impressed you.

4 Craft a clear, concise paragraph outlining what he or she did wrong. 

5 Acknowledge, if appropriate, that the offence may have been inadvertent or that you might have misunderstood something.

6 Offer solutions to prevent this mistake from happening in the future.

7  State clearly the results you would like from this letter.

8 As appropriate, offer your assistance, reiterate that you hope to continue working with the person, and that you appreciate the other things that he/she has done.

9 Summarize the letter and sign your name.
